The Horizon Europe-funded COVend project is pleased to invite researchers, clinicians, and clinical trial coordinators to a one-hour online webinar titled “From COVID-19 to ARDS: Adapting Our Clinical Trial to Real-World Conditions”, taking place on 12 June 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 CET.
This session will examine how the COVend clinical trial, originally launched in response to COVID-19, has evolved into a broader strategy for treating Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) using a mechanism-based approach. The webinar will provide insights into both the scientific rationale behind this shift and the operational challenges encountered along the way.
We are honoured to welcome three distinguished experts from across Europe as special guests for the moderated panel discussion:
Jacques Demotes, Director General, European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN)
Professor Bernard Cholley, Professor of Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care, Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou – Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP), Université Paris Cité
Sylvia Daamen, Research Manager, European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC)
Their contributions will provide valuable perspectives on pan-European trial coordination, ICU and anaesthesiology site readiness and the broader landscape of critical care research and clinical trial networks in Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for participants to engage with experienced clinical research leaders and learn what it takes to design and implement effective, real-world clinical trials across borders.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
